This Halloween had been a breeze for some, as usual, while it took its toll on others in many ways. While most of us would prefer dressing up as Mortal Engines’ Anna Fang in a red woolen trench coat and steam punk glasses, many would prefer to go all out to dress up as their favourite superhero from the movies. However, as the famous saying goes, superheroes don’t have to wear capes. In order to pull off the perfect look this Halloween (the party’s still on), all you need is to go as your favourite character from Mortal Engines. Portray your inner rebel in one of the featured trench coats, and top off your look with the accessory required. Mentioned below are 4 looks that we believe are worth cosplaying this Halloween. ANNA FANG’S RED WOOLEN TRENCH COAT Having Jihae Kim to portray Anna Fang in the series quartet was an amazing move. Not only do we get to see diversity on the show, but Anna Fang’s South Korean accent will diversify the majority of the Caucasian cast on the set. Anna Fang’s look seems pretty laid back, but in reality and according to the screenplay Mortal Engines, it is incredibly also badass. Maybe it’s because Jihae Kim is quite talented to pull this look off. However, it could be due to the glasses as well because they have undoubtedly helped to add an air of mystery to Fang’s look. In order to portray Anna Fang this Halloween, you need to endorse a pixie cut and get ahold of a red trench (woolen preferred) for the look. Take ahold of a pair of steam punk glasses, and voila, your inner Anna Fang is all ready to be unleashed HESTER SHAW’S LONG TRENCH COAT London Traction City seems pretty cold to us – in more ways than one. While the entire cast can be seen clad in woolen trench coats, Mortal Engines is all set to make a statement about fashion this fall and winter. While there are plenty of people cosplaying Hester Shaw for Halloween or comic cons, let us tell you what you need to do to pull off the perfect assassin look. With prosthetics and make-up, you can make a scar on your face similar to the one Hester Shaw has in the series. With the aid of a red scarf, and a long trench coat, get your inner Hester Shaw in gear, and pull off the look of one of the greatest assassins feared in the history of sci-fi (we went a bit too far with this analogy). NILS LINDSTORM’S LONG TRENCH COAT We are putting Nils Lindstorm’s coat before that of Tom Natsworthy’s because we think that we ought to hand over some credit to Leifur Sigurdarson for pulling this look off. Also, we think that Natsworthy will be the idealistic choice to keep readers hooked, so there’s that as well. Nils Lindstorm plays quite a minor role in the movie, and can be somehow, considered as a supporting character as well. Get ahold of Nils Lindstorm’s Coat that is not only made up of leather but is also lined by fur at the collar. However, with a blonde wig and a fake beard (or real if you already have one or can grow it), you can pull off Nils Lindstorm’s look to perfection. TOM NATSWORTHY’S BLACK TRENCH COAT If you can pull Tom Natsworthy’s baby face from the movie with the right expressions and gestures, you can pull this look off to a tee. All you need is a black trench coat that is open from the front and has open hem cuffs as well. Go along with Hester Shaw to your Halloween party, since people might need some time warming up to your character. You can always go as a nudist on strike in your ordinary clothes on if you don’t plan on spending for the Halloween, or if you have trouble thinking up a last-minute Halloween costume. Also, Halloween comes only once a year, so make the most of it by actually investing some time in dressing up for the parties in the neighbourhood.
